This is possibly the best hotel I have stayed in. The facilities were excellent and everything was of high quality. The bedroom had a panoramic view of the sea and mountains. The bed was larger than a king size and was really comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. 2 sinks, a bath and a separate shower unit which had both a rainwater and spray shower unit and, unlike the majority of hotels, the pressure of the water was brilliant, leaving you feeling completely refreshed. The hand soaps, shower gels and conditioners were also luxurious. The cleaning staff made our room spotless and came in at least twice a day. I cannot emphasis enough how wonderful all the staff were from receptionists to the waiting staff. All friendly, professional and personable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends, family and businesses.

Exceptionally high quality of construction and finishing, complimented by beautiful furniture. Loved our room and the high quality of the bathroom. Lovely breakfast room, bar and terrace. One nice touch is the old passenger lift that has been maintained; a reminder of times gone by. There is of course a modern lift close by. The grounds are well maintained and the location of the property gives it a special feel, with lovely commanding views over the estuary and coastline.loved our room and the high quality of the bathroom. The most exclusive location in town. The hotel is steeped in history but filled with modern day amenities. We had a lovely view to the sea and a balcony. The shower gel and toiletries were very nice and the shower water pressure and fixtures were top of the line! Great bathroom and great toilet paper :-) The breakfast was top of the line and the food and service at the breakfast salon and at the lounge was also great. Good job! The best and most important feature of this hotel is that ALL the staff were exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful. Everyone seemed as if they were enjoying their work and were happy to assist. I don't know if this is a Cantabrian quality of all the people in that city or simply the best training, but surely the staff at this hotel are the nicest and friendliest people in all of Spain. Congratulations. I would stay here again, only for the service.

The location was great. The hotel is nice you feel the history of the place. But I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 stars GL. The service is not 5 stars GL. Rooms are clean, big but a bit outdated. Showers were recently renovated and very nice and comfy, really liked it. The breakfast was good. The view from our room was stunning ! This is something we really enjoyed.

This hotel is a total gem. It is a five star luxury, beautiful, elegant hotel. The staff were amazing. Although the restaurant was closed on the night we stayed, we were able to order delicious amazing food from the bar. The gin martinis were superb. The room was absolutely perfect. It was like a room you would stay in for your honeymoon. Bathroom, shower, toiletries were gorgeous. Reception were lovely, especially Veronica. Parking was so easy and free. Santander is a lovely city on the coast and we had amazing views from our room. We only stayed one night sadly as we were catching the ferry home the next day. But would love to return one day and explore.

Iconic views and great service! Perfect location to get to the city center or the beach. Their common areas were magnificent.

A beautiful room with a stunning view. Paying extra to have a room with a balcony on the sea side is worth every penny. Loved it!! A rich history, classic hospitality, and a touch of glamour.

Location was wonderful and hotel had a stunning view over the bay. We had a room at the rear of the hotel with balcony overlooking the pretty gardens and bay. Room was very comfortable with fridge, mini-bar and air con that was very useful during the recent heatwave. Breakfast, served overlooking the garden, was superb with hot and cold buffet and great choice.
